Come and Try Sessions

Come and Try sessions are specifically designed for new players and those wanting to try out wheelchair basketball for the first time, and we always love to see new faces!

All training equipment is provided free of charge. You don’t need to bring a wheelchair or a ball, but please wear sports clothing, remove all jewellery and bring a drink . Coaching is provided by our very own player/coach, Emily Scrivener, who is BWB Level 2 qualified.

We have spaces available on the following Come and Try dates, places are limited so please book now to avoid disappointment:

In the future we hope to have Come and Try sessions in Sudbury in Suffolk, dates and venues will be announced shortly.

Training sessions

Depending on the success of our come and try sessions we will resume training at Location one – Westly Middle School, Oliver Road, Bury St. Edmunds, IP33 3JB from 7-9pm, costing £3 per session on a Wednesday night every 3 weeks in October 2017.

Location two – Training sessions at Cambridge University Sports Centre, Philippa Fawcett Drive, Cambridge, CB3 0AS, from 5-7pm, costing approximately £6 per session on a Wednesday night once a month in September 2017.

Once you have been to some training sessions and the coaching staff have established you are ready for matches, you will be invited to sign up and register with the league for Eastern Blue Stars. You (and your parents if under 18), will be added as members to the club’s closed Facebook group and will receive invites and emails with details about forthcoming matches. Please see the table for more information. The BWB individual registration form is sent out once a year so does not have a hyperlink here. The team manager will send these out when necessary.
