How and when did you get into wheelchair basketball?
I was passing a guy in a wheelchair on his way to basketball training and he stopped me and asked me if I wanted to join their training session. I had always been too scared to go and ask about wheelchair sports but had always wanted to try, so I arranged to start training. I loved it from the start and it has boosted my wheelchair skills, general confidence and fitness. I first picked up a ball 12 weeks after my youngest son was born (July 2012).

What do you think is your biggest achievement?
Improvements in fitness and skill.

What do you like best about Women’s League?
You feel a kindred spirit with people of the same sex and the Women’s League gives us the opportunity to be on a level with each other (whereas in the mixed teams, women can be at a disadvantage).

What is your National League Club?
Norwich Lowriders

Anything else you would like included in your profile?
I have met so many wonderful people since playing basketball and it has become a very important part of my life. It has given me friends and confidence and a sense of worth that I lacked before I started playing.
